Oak Park Early Learning Academy

Tuesday, February 16: Oak Park Early Learning Academy will remain closed today due to the severe winter weather.

After reviewing the current road conditions in Richmond and the continue snowfall through the morning, Oak Park has decided to remain closed today for the safety of our staff. This will allow Richomond public street crews the opportunity to clear both main and side roads for safe travel.

Oak Park Early Learning will reopen on Wednesday, February 17 at our normal business hours.

Stay safe during this severe winter storm!

Struggling to pay upfront childcare costs so you can get back to work? Childcare Assistance Now Available!

COVID-19 has negatively impacted the financial strength of many of our community's families and businesses. One major hurdle that families are facing right now is how to pay childcare costs upfront so that they can return to work.

Oak Park Early Learning Academy's Back-to-Work Childcare Assistance Program can help families today!

Through the generous support of the United Way of Whitewater Valley, Oak Park Early Learning is offering temporary childcare scholarships for families financially-impacted by COVID-19.  As a funded partner of the United Way of Whitewater Valley, we are working together to economically mobilize our community to return to work.    Read more. . .

Oak Park Early Learning Academy has just received a $20,000 grant as part of the Come Back Stronger Fund, supported by Lilly Endowment and Early Learning Indiana. The Come Back Stronger Fund was designed to support Indiana’s early child care and learning providers with safety-related expenses and challenges related to COVID-19 so we can better serve families and communities in coming back stronger.

We will use this grant to provide our staff with more personal protective supplies, lockable classroom cabinets for cleaning supplies, individualized toy kits in our infant rooms, plus more learning activities and individualized art supplies in all classrooms. The funding will also allow us to make classroom adjustments to accommodate no more than 15 children together to support social distancing. These increased health and safety measures will allow us to better protect your children and our teachers as the community continues its stages to fully reopen.

The health and safety of our families, children and staff are our top priorities and we’re grateful that this grant will help us provide better service to all the families we serve.

Our COVID-19 Action Plan

During this COVID-19 pandemic, Oak Park Early Learning Academy has implemented the following procedures in order to provide a healthy environment for our children and teachers:

  • Staff members’ temperatures are taken as they arrive for work.
  • Staff members wear masks and medical smocks in the classrooms.
  • Children’s temperatures are taken while still in the vehicle to better ensure that every child is healthy.
  • Children are taken to and from their classrooms by our staff members to reduce the number of individuals physically on our premises and in contact with our teachers.
  • Children’s hands are washed immediately upon arrival, and we practice hand washing throughout the day.
  • Our staff members are cleaning and sanitizing toys, equipment and furniture on a daily basis.
  • No more than 15 children are cared for in a classroom space.
